Re: Permissions request for SPK – Aus der Krankheit eine Waffe machen

Dear Professor E.,

Trikont, Munich, has forwarded your email to us, KRRIM – PF-Verlag fuer Krankheit (publisher for illness). It is us who have published all further editions of the book SPK – Aus der Krankheit eine Waffe machen. Meanwhile there is the 6th edition. The holder of the copyright is Dr. Wolfgang Huber, the founder of the Sozialistisches Patientenkollektiv who has entrusted us with the publication and with the respective rights (see also: www.gossipcide.htm).

Moreover, KRRIM – PF-Verlag für Krankheit publishes all the other books of the Sozialistisches Patientenkollektiv/Patientenfront, SPK/PF(H), since 1986, meanwhile more than 60 books in the most important languages of the world (see: www.spkpfh.de).

Concerning your request: we do not grant you the permission to translate and reproduce excerpts from the book SPK – Aus der Krankheit eine Waffe machen. Reason: at present we, SPK/PF(H), are the only ones who can represent appropriately the interests of the patients‘ class against the doctors‘ class. No one else is allowed to write but one word about SPK.

SPK does not fit in your planned book about "Madness and Mental Illness ... An Historical Anthology". SPK had and has nothing to do with "madness" and "mental illness" but with pro-illness against iatro-capitalism. The Socialist Patients’ Collective (SPK) never ceased to exist and it has prevailed again and again despite of the most adverse circumstances while all the other currents and movements, at that time being considered "far more revolutionary", have failed long since and have terminated or surrendered, even if un-dissolved. Therefore SPK is in no way "historical", and your book is the false frame.

There already exists an English translation of SPK – Aus der Krankheit eine Waffe machen. It has been translated by the founder of the SPK himself, Dr. Wolfgang Huber, and has been published 1993 with KRRIM.

If you are personally interested in the matter of illness, a matter which concerns everybody around the world, you can order the book for yourself.

Sincerely,

KRRIM – PF-Verlag fuer Krankheit
